Nalmes has dedicated itself to promoting and preserving the folk traditions of the Adygeans—the ancient dwellers of the North Caucasus. The 70-member ensemble has won the top prize at international folk competitions, earning accolades for the beauty, energy, and authenticity of their spectacular performances. This is a rare opportunity to experience the music, dance, swordplay, and gorgeous costumes of a rich culture that is barely known outside of Russia.

Collaborative Arts (coLAB Arts) is pleased to present an exhibition entitled Identifiable representing the photographic works of Nakeya Brown and Terri Beckles. This exhibition will be help at the newly acquired gallery space located at 49 Bayard St. New Brunswick, New Jersey. The opening reception is April 15th, 2010 from 7:00 to 10:00pm. Alana Integlia, a recent Mason Gross School of the Arts graduate curated this exhibition. She not only received a BFA during her undergraduate career but also simultaneously completed two additional majors in Art History and Women and Gender Studies. She is currently working for Arts Guild New Jersey and has worked with the Brooklyn Museum’s Sackler Center for Feminist art as well as the Feminist Art project. This exhibition symbolizes to her and the rest of coLAB Arts leadership, recognition of the diversity within the local arts community.
