Milk & Cookies: Free Storytelling Series for Children - Stories from Around World

The State Theatre announces an all-new lively, interactive, and FREE three-part storytelling series entitled MILK & COOKIES for children, ages three to eight, and their parents. This brand new initiative, fully-funded and sponsored by the Provident Bank Foundation and presented by the State Theatre, is a total of six performances on three select Saturdays at 10am and 12pm. Each performance will contain live music and will encourage audience participation. Space is limited, so advance registration is strongly recommended. To register call 732-246-SHOW.

Lisa Facciponti—Stories from Around the World

Lisa Facciponti’s storytelling programs feature audience participation, music, some words and phrases in Spanish, some simple costuming, dance, and song to engage audiences of all ages. She has appeared as a storyteller, conducted residencies, and led workshops throughout the northeastern U.S., as well as in Mexico. Facciponti is on the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts roster of teaching and performing artists and helped found the Lehigh Valley Storyteller’s Guild.For tickets (or a brochure), call the State Theatre box office at 732-246-SHOW (7469), or visit us online at www.StateTheatreNJ.org. The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Family Day

Children and adults alike will delight in this blacklight performance featuring the Little Caterpillar and an assortment of favorite creepy-crawlies. The triple-bill includes the wonderful story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly; the fanciful account of Little Cloud’s travels through the sky, and the Mixed-up Chameleon’s discovery of his own unique nature.

Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of family-friendly entertainment! Adding to the festival atmosphere is a new venue—the Hub City Big Top—set up on Livingston Avenue in front of the State Theatre. Under the Big Top families can enjoy food, FREE face painting and balloon animals, live characters from popular children’s shows, Radio Disney’s DJ Mickey, games, and more.

Nickelodeon’s backyard friends, The Backyardigans, come to life for preschoolers in their brand-new live show! Join Knights Uniqua and Tyrone as they embark on a quest to protect King Pablo’s unpredictable egg. Along the way, Grabbing Goblin Austin and Flighty Fairy Tasha join the medieval mayhem as the runaway egg hatches feet and makes an unexpected dash all the way up to Dragon Mountain! The Backyardigans will need the audience’s help to face a mighty dragon and return the egg to the king. The Backyardigans Live! will have the entire family singing, dancing, and laughing along to songs of courage, friendship, and the power of imagination.
